Trip to the Zoo

We took Tucker to the zoo in Columbia SC for the 1st time on Father's Day and if we lived in Columbia I would have season passes to the zoo, we all had so much fun. I will just narrate through some of the best pics.

This was on the way to the zoo.
The first animals we saw were the monkeys and Tucker started immediately doing his best monkey impersonation!
This is a random pic of a the lion, doesn't he just look like the king of the jungle?
Then Tucker rode a tiger.
Leave it to our child to run to the drink machine and start talking to the animals!
This is Bryce and Tucker feeding the birds, which was really neat until a little girl next to us got pooped on--we ended the bird feeding session at that point.
Oh--this was my favorite part--Tucker got to take his first pony ride!!! The only stipulation was that he had to keep his hands on the horn of the saddle--uhmm as you can see that didn't really happen. Every time the girl that was leading us around would turn and look at us I would very quickly throw Tucker's hands on the saddle and hold them there!

Of course we had to go to the gift shop and let him pick out an animal, he picked out a baby giraffe but he also got this weird tiger head thing that he LOVED and played with for weeks.
They have this viewing room where you can go in and look at the gorillas--basically your only a piece of glass away from the gorillas and one just happen to be laying out when we went by.
Can I just say that this gorilla could have been a part of our family--look at this drama queen she would have fit right in!

This in on the way home--you can see the weird tiger head toy in his hand. We had so much fun and will definitely go back!

A Normal Summer Day Around the Gandy House

Here are some random pics of a normal summer day around our house:

We typically start the day off with some laundry.

We imagine we're big and going off to school (nice outfit).

We bring the outdoors indoors. This was Simon the turtle that we found one morning outside by our trash can. He's kind of hard to make out in the pic because I put so much bark in his container--I went a litle overboard trying to make him feel at home! We kept him for a few hours and then sent him back on his way at a creek near our house.
Do I need to say anything about this? Typical grocery shopping excursion!

Tucker found this digging my beach bag!

We play outside, ALOT!

We always have time to stop and draw a picture!

And finally we end the day cleaning up!! (This is probably Tucker's favorite thing to do--he loves to vacuum--no complaints here! )

Our First Post!

Well, I have been wanting to start a blog for a while but my laziness has gotten the best of me. We have been having so much fun this summer that I want to share it with our friends and family and have a way to chronicle Tucker's life. So here goes...enjoy!
