Tucker's First Day of Preschool

Yesterday was Tucker's first day of preschool, he's now in the 3 year old class, and he's going to school 3 mornings a week this year. We're lucky because his teacher's assistant Mrs. Brandy, moved up with the class from the 2's to the 3's, so she's very familiar with Tucker and ALL the things that make him sooooo unique! :) His lead teacher's name is Mrs. Dolly and Tucker refuses to call her Mrs., he just calls her Dolly.

Of course Bryce (Tucker's wanna-be stylist) and I (Tucker's real stylist) had a total debate about what he was going to wear on his 1st day--I know we need to find something else to do!

Gigi is very excited about spending 3 days a week ALONE with Mommy!

I promised Tucker that we would make cupcakes and have a little party if he had a good day, and according to Mrs. Dolly he had a GREAT day!

And, randomly this is what happens on the mornings that Tucker doesn't go to school! Poor Gigi!

Take me out to the ballgame!

Last year we took Tucker to a Knight's game for his birthday and I decided then that we should do his 3rd birthday party there. So off we went to the ballgame. Jacob was able to "hook us up" once again and helped me arrange everything, we all had a GREAT time!

This was the morning of his actual birthday, I made chocolate chip pancakes.

Tucker got so many nice presents, he got totally overwhelmed opening them because he wanted to play with everything!

This was Jacob walking Tucker onto the dugout to stand with Homer and the crowd sang all the children who had birthday's, happy birthday, very cute!

Despite the heat, even Gigi enjoyed herself!

Payton and Gigi talked on the phone the night before about what they were going to wear! :)

This was probably the funniest part of the whole night. So Poppy was walking around with Tucker and Wes and they spotted Ms. North Carolina, well Poppy proceeded to tell the boys that she was a princess that lived in a castle. Tucker stared at her the whole time just like he is in this picture!

We had a great time and Tucker is still talking about his baseball party!

Great Wolf Lodge

For Tucker's birthday Lady and Poppy decided to take him to the Great Wolf Lodge that just opened in Concord. Now, we had been pumping this trip up to Tucker for weeks, which can be a little dangerous with a three year old because they have no concept of time. So I think he thought he was going to the great wolf lodge everyday for about 2 weeks. Anyway, when the day finally came he was soooo excited. Honestly, we were all excited and Bryce and I were a little jealous that we didn't get to go. So, they spent all afternoon at the water park in the lodge, and that night they had story time in the lobby, mom was told to dress Tucker in his pjs for story time--he's still talking about story time, I think that was his favorite thing. Mom and dad got a room with 2 double beds and they let Tucker stay up until 10:00. I think mom let him have his first coke, and he basically had a diet of anything sugar for 24 hours, that's what grandparents are for! Also, I think that anything that Tucker even glanced at my parents bought him, and I mean everything. He now has 2 great wolf lodge t-shirts, a wolf backpack, a wolf stuffed animal, a wolf plate, and the topper is the little wolf statue that now sits in his room! So, Sunday morning Bryce and I and Gigi got to go to the lodge and eat lunch and see the waterpark and go to the arcade, yes I said arcade. If I had a picture of Gigi in the arcade--she was looking around like, ok come on this is just ridiculous! :) Anyway, Bryce had so much fun that I think, when he leaves the house to run to the store or the car wash that he is secretly going to the Great Wolf Lodge and hanging out! :) We all had a great time and hope that this becomes an annual Lady Poppy trip!

Heaven is my home.

The other night we had a big thunderstorm while Tucker was getting ready for bed. I was putting his pajamas on him when there was a huge boom of thunder. Tucker said Mommy what's that noise and I told him not to be scared it was thunder. He said "Mommy thunder scare me". I explained to him that storms are God's way of watering the trees and flowers and grass and that it wasn't scary, and that it sounds like God bowling in heaven. He said, "Heaven Mommy?", I said yes Tucker heaven. I asked him if he knew where heaven was and he pointed up to the sky and I told him that heaven was way above the clouds. He stopped for a minute and looked at me and said, "heaven my home, mommy" and put his hand over his heart. I nearly melted right then, children never cease to amaze me. They really do hear God so much more clearly than adults sometimes do, just because they are open to it.

Big Brother, Little Sister

Oh Tucker and Gigi, the whole time I was pregnant I thought about if Tucker would like Gigi or if he would be jealous. Well, Tucker LOVES Gigi, as in he wants to squeeze her neck off, roll around on the ground with her, sit on top of her--I mean he just really can't control himself when it comes to her. If she's crying in her crib and he's downstairs with me he says Mommy I gotta go save DeeDee (how he says Gigi). Now, Gigi on the other hand pretty much looks at him like--uhmm do the adults now that you are this close to me--I don't think this is allowed.
You can see in the pictures that Tucker took her lovey bunny, he takes all of her stuff, she's probably going to start hoarding her stuff so he doesn't always take it away from her! Her face in the first picture pretty much explains it all--it cracks me up!

Introducing...

Well, I probably need to give her a formal introduction! This is Gillian Kay Gandy, our Gigi, she was born April 8th and weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz. and she was 19 3/4 inches long. She's now 3 months old and she hasn't lost one hair on her head. Ok, so I might have tried to put it in a ponytail the other day--somebody stop me! :) She's our precious girl!

We're Back!!

Well after a long--long hiatus (long enough to have a baby :)I've decided to start blogging again. Our family has changed so much and with two little ones we seem to change more and more everyday! I've gone back and read some of my older posts and this is such a neat way to chronicle our kids growing up. Tucker will be three in a few weeks (big tears) he's growing up so much and although he's still all boy he has such a sweet spirit. Gigi is our newest arrival and an arrival she has been--she's just the opposite of Tucker at her age--all girl. She doesn't care much about playing or being on the ground she would much rather be held and coo and talk all day! Tucker very often scares her with his running around and throwing trucks and slamming the hammer into the wall ( all the things boys do) and she very loudly lets us all know. She's very fondly been labeled not a princess but the QUEEN of our house, we all think she's royal :). Watching some of the looks that she gives the jester woops I mean Tucker is hilarious! I have pretty much prayed my whole life that God would bless me with a little girl and she is my dream come true! :) She's a true momma's girl and I hope that never changes! We are having a fun summer and I am reminded everyday of how blessed our little family is.
